Doug Gibson and Alicia Vanhook Gibson grew up in Big Stone Gap, Virginia where Powell Valley cuts into the Appalachian mountains. Their music, with its emphasis on vocal harmony and strong songwriting, reflects the fiercely independent and rich cultural heritage of their Appalachian roots.

Doug and Alicia met in high school. Fifteen years later, after moving to opposite sides of the country, losing contact, getting back together, breaking up, and growing up, the two settled into life as a married couple in Knoxville, Tennessee. After returning to the mountains, they are now following a long time dream by creating music as Trail of the Lonesome, a name they chose in tribute to the little mountain town that originally brought them together.

Trail of the Lonesome is available for public and private shows up to four hours long including a mix of original and cover music.
